ROME: Forum

I had such a fabulous trip to Rome with friends over Thanksgiving! The weather was gorgeous and it was so fun to hang out with awesome people! Here are some pictures from the ruins of the Roman Forum.

We learned that the Forum was used as a stone quarry to build other buildings in Rome, so a lot of marble is missing.

People tried to pull these columns down to use the stone, but they wouldn't come down! You can still see the deep ridges on the tops of the columns from rope marks!

I learned a little bit about the Vestal Virgins in Ancient Rome and their job to keep the sacred fire in the temple burning—super interesting.

We loved that you can drink from most of the fountains in Rome!

We also liked jumping on various piles of rocks and taking slow-motion videos :)
